The SCHSL is pleased to announce the October 2025 Student-Athletes of the Month. Clara Cloning of North Myrtle Beach High School has been named the Girl’s Student-Athlete of the Month and Carver Davis of Ninety Six High School as the Boy’s Student-Athlete of the Month.

Clara is an outstanding scholar-athlete with a 5.214 GPA, ranking in the top 5% of her senior class. She has been on the A Honor Roll every semester and continues to challenge herself with Advanced Placement courses each year.

A leader on and off the court, Clara has been instrumental in her team’s success as a 2024–2025 5A State Champion, 2022–2024 Lower State Champion, and a three-time All-Region Volleyball Player. This year, she earned the title of 5A Region 6 Player of the Year, reflecting her hard work, sportsmanship, and commitment to excellence.

Clara is equally dedicated to service and leadership. She is a member of five honor societies, serves on the Superintendent’s Student Cabinet, and actively participates in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Beta Club, and Student Council. Crowned the 2025 Homecoming Queen, Clara gives back through her involvement with the Christmas Angels project, youth summer camps, and her church community.

Carver exemplifies academic excellence, leadership, and character both in the classroom and on the field.

Ranked fourth in his senior class, with a GPA of 5.03 , Carver is a dedicated scholar who challenges himself through dual-enrollment courses at Piedmont Technical College. A member of the National Honor Society, National English Honor Society, and Spanish Honor Society, he consistently demonstrates integrity, work ethic, and intellectual curiosity. His academic achievements include being named an Erskine Junior Scholar, Lander Fellow, and Junior Marshal for the Class of 2025. He is also a multiple-time recipient of the Gold Key Award for maintaining high honor roll status.

A true multi-sport athlete, Carver competes in football, basketball, baseball, and track, serving as captain of both the varsity football and basketball teams. His athletic excellence has earned him recognition as a Two-Time Male Athlete of the Year, Iron Cat of the Year, and Lakelands FCA Athlete of the Year, along with multiple selections as the Index Journal Player of the Week.

Beyond his athletic and academic accomplishments, Carver is a servant leader on his campus. He serves as Student Body President and a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Leadership Team, using his platform to inspire others through humility, sportsmanship, and a strong moral foundation.

Carver Davis is a shining example of what it means to be a student-athlete leader in South Carolina—driven, disciplined, and dedicated to excellence in every arena.
