Swansea High School – Basketball
Lexington School District Four is accepting applications for the position of Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Swansea High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The district seeks an experienced, energetic, and student-centered leader who will provide comprehensive leadership for all facets of the boys basketball program.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the development of well-rounded student-athletes who achieve academic success, display exemplary character, and contribute positively to the school and community. The Head Coach will work collaboratively with the Principal and Athletic Director to ensure full compliance with district policies, SCHSL regulations, and region requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to organize, lead, and supervise a comprehensive basketball program
- Prior successful varsity coaching experience as a head coach or assistant coach
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategy, and contemporary coaching practices
- Demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model and mentor to student-athletes
Preferred Qualifications
- South Carolina professional teaching certification at the secondary level
- Ability to balance instructional responsibilities with leadership of an athletic program
- Evidence of effective classroom instruction and student engagement
Compensation: Athletic coaching supplement provided in accordance with district guidelines, position, and experience.
