Amy Boozer Named SCHSL Interim Commissioner
Columbia, S.C. (June 4, 2026)– The South Carolina High School League (SCHSL) Executive Committee voted unanimously to appoint Associate Commissioner Amy Boozer as the Interim Commissioner of the SCHSL. Boozer has served in her current role since 2016.

The 2026-27 Executive Committee will begin a search for a permanent Commissioner on July 1, 2026.
Boozer will succeed long-time Commissioner, Dr. Jerome Singleton, who is set to retire this summer after 31-years of dedicated service to the SCHSL and its member schools.
As the Interim Commissioner, Boozer will be responsible for the overall leadership, administration, and governance of League operations.
“Amy’s leadership experience, commitment to educational athletics, and deep understanding of the League make her exceptionally qualified to guide the SCHSL during this transition,” said Executive Committee President Dr. Adam Lanford. “We are confident in her ability to provide stability and continued service to our member schools, coaches, and student-athletes.”
Prior to joining the SCHSL, Boozer served at Newberry High School, where she led the Bulldogs’ volleyball and softball programs while also serving as chair of the physical education department. During her tenure at Newberry, Boozer began serving as Executive Secretary of the South Carolina Coaches Association of Women’s Sports (CAWS), a position she continues to hold today.
Boozer earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education from Lander University and went on to earn her sports administration master’s degree from the United States Sports Academy.
Further details regarding the search for the League’s next Commissioner will be announced by the 2026-27 Executive Committee following the start of the new fiscal year on July 1.
