Fall Captains’ Course Schedule for August 15
The South Carolina High School League is intentional about putting our student-athletes first, they are students first and athletes immediately after. Our goal this year is to decrease unsportsmanlike conduct and increase sportsmanship through the education of student-athletes,coaches, and parents. In an effort to increase leadership and sportsmanship, we are cleaning the slate. The Sportsmanship Award dates have been changed and will now correlate with the school year, Aug 1 – May 31. This change will allow member schools to start fresh each school year.
One of the criteria is to participate in all our Captains Courses and Summits. The league is hosting three virtual captains courses and two virtual summits this year. Our hope is that every school in our membership will register for these resources. We want to gift our captains with the educational resources for optimal team leadership and sportsmanship.
The first Captains’ Course is August 15, 2024, at 10 a.m. One of the speakers is our very own NFHS Hall of Fame Volleyball Coach, Paula Kirkland. Our athletes are in for a treat.
These Courses and Summits are completely free to our membership. Online registration for the Captains Course is available through this link Fall Captains Course beginning today (August 2, 2024) through Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
