Job Summary
The Athletic Director plays a pivotal role in overseeing the athletic programs at the institution, ensuring that all activities align with the educational mission and values of the university. This position involves leadership, management, and strategic planning to foster a positive environment for student-athletes and promote their academic and athletic success. The Athletic Director will collaborate with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students, to enhance the overall athletic experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive athletic programs that support student engagement and success.
  • Manage budgets for all athletic departments, ensuring financial accountability and sustainability.
  • Recruit, train, and evaluate coaching staff while promoting professional development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with university policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations governing athletics.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to support student-athletes’ educational goals and monitor their academic progress.
  • Organize and oversee athletic events, competitions, and fundraising initiatives to enhance community involvement.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that promotes diversity within all athletic programs.
  • Serve as a liaison between the athletics department and university administration.

  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse groups within the university community.
  • Experience working with students in an athletic or educational setting is highly desirable.
