FARM BUREAU INSURANCE TO RECOGNIZE SCHSL FOOTBALL CHAIN CREWS
Columbia, SC- The South Carolina High School League is excited to partner once again with Farm Bureau Insurance as they unveil their newest celebration of scholastic sports in the Palmetto State. Throughout the 2021 football season, the SCHSL will be taking nominations from its member schools to recognize some of the unsung heroes of the gridiron, the chain crew. Beginning in September, a different school’s crew will be recognized each week on a dedicated page of the SCHSL website and that crew, the Farm Bureau Insurance Chain Crew of the Week, will receive special vests from Farm Bureau Insurance to be worn during games.
“Friday night lights beaming over football fields across South Carolina would not be possible without the chain crew, moving the game along with accuracy and precision,” said SCHSL Commissioner Jerome Singleton. “The Farm Bureau Insurance Chain Crew of the Week is a unique way to recognize these dedicated football enthusiasts.”
“All eyes are on the chain crews, especially when a critical play comes down to a matter of inches on the field. They play a tremendous role in high school football, and we’re excited to spotlight a crew each week as a proud supporter of the South Carolina High School League,” said Susan Merrill, Director of Marketing for South Carolina Farm Bureau Insurance.
All SCHSL football programs will have the opportunity to nominate their chain crew for recognition. Athletics Directors will receive an email with a form they can fill out and send back to the league office, identifying the members of their crew and providing any additional information to support the nomination. Each week, a new chain crew will be highlighted on the SCHSL.org website as well as official SCHSL social media accounts.
