2024 Fall Sports Changes – Helene
The following changes were made to the fall sports season by the Executive Committee on October, 8, 2024.
FOOTBALL
One Week added to the regular season and state playoff dates changed:
Week 11 – New – 11/8/24
Round 1 – 11/15/24
Round 2 – 11/22/24
Round 3 – 11/29/24
Round 4 – 12/6/24
State Finals – 12/12 – 12/14
- Number of total contests per school did not change.
- Sub Varsity last day to play 11/14/24
VOLLEYBALL
One Week added to the regular season and state playoff dates changed.
Boys: (Currently only have 4 rounds) Girls:
Round 1 – 10/30 (Wednesday) Round 1 – 10/31 (Thursday)
Round 2 – 11/2 (Saturday) Round 2 – 11/5 (Tuesday)
Round 3 – 11/6 (Wednesday) Round 3 – 11/7 (Thursday)
State Finals – 11/9 (Saturday) Round 4 – 11/11 (Monday) & 11/12 (Tues.)
State Finals – 11/14 (Thur.) & 11/16 (Sat.)
- Number of total play dates did not change.
- Last Playdate – Monday, October 28, 2024
- Sub Varsity last play date – Tuesday October 29, 2024
Middle School Volleyball Invitational October 26 – This event has been canceled
COMPETITIVE CHEER:
No change to qualifier dates or championship dates.
The following requirement was reduced to one competition:
Must have participated in at least two regular season competitions in order to be eligible to participate in the qualifiers.
GIRLS TENNIS:
One week added to the regular season and state playoff dates changed.
Round 1 – 10/31 (Thursday)
Round 2 – 11/5 (Tuesday)
Round 3 – 11/7 (Thursday)
Round 4 – 11/12 (Tuesday)
State Finals – 11/16 (Saturday)
- Last Playdate – Monday, October 28th
- Number of playdates did not change.
CROSS COUNTRY:
No change to qualifier dates or championship dates.
The following requirement was reduced to one:
All runners must have competed in a minimum of two cross country races prior to entering state competition.
SWIMMING:
Dates for state finals remain the same.
Deadline for state qualifying times was extended to October 9, 2024.
This extended qualifying opportunities for all swimmers.
GIRLS GOLF:
No change to qualifier dates or championship dates.
