SAAC is Off to a Great Start!

The SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Council) members held their first official meeting of the 2024-2025 school year on August 21, 2024. During this meeting, the council solidified their theme for the year: #InItTogether. This theme was chosen to emphasize the importance of mental and physical wellness among student-athletes across the state, promoting a sense of unity and support within the community. The council envisions fostering an environment where no one feels alone and hopes that schools statewide will adopt the hashtag to inspire collaboration among teams, parents, and coaches through sports.

The meeting was led by SCHSL SAAC President Kelly Gristwood. In addition to selecting the theme, the council members voted on the dates and times for the next three meetings. Each member also had the opportunity to present their own ideas and initiatives for their respective schools for the year.
